Odisha Vigilance Conducts Raids at 7 Locations Linked to Irrigation Engineer

The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations connected to Pramod Ray, an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) working in the Derabish Irrigation Sub-Division under the Kendrapara Irrigation Division, following allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The searches were carried out on March 7, 2026, based on warrants issued by the Court of the Special Judge Vigilance Cuttack.
Multi-District Searches Conducted
According to vigilance officials, the operation is being conducted by a large team comprising two Additional Superintendents of Police, nine Deputy Superintendents of Police, nine Inspectors, four Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other supporting staff.
Simultaneous raids are currently underway across multiple districts including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Dhenkanal.
Locations Under Search
The vigilance teams are conducting searches at the following seven locations linked to the engineer and his relatives:

A four-storey residential building belonging to Ray at Johala in Balianta area of Bhubaneswar.

A double-storey house at Jajabhairab in Chaudwar, Cuttack.

His ancestral house located at Ragadi in Banki area of Cuttack district.

Residence of a relative at Budanga in Bhadrak district.

His office chamber-cum-temporary residence at the Derabish Irrigation Office in Kendrapara district.

House of a relative at Sanasathiebatia in Dhenkanal district.

Residence of another relative located at Patia in Bhubaneswar.
Investigation Underway
Officials stated that the searches are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that the engineer accumulated assets beyond his legitimate income sources during his service.
Vigilance authorities confirmed that the searches are still in progress, and further details regarding seized assets or financial records will be released after the operation concludes.
