Younger Brother Allegedly Stones Elder Sibling to Death in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A gruesome incident has rocked a hamlet near Bundamal Railway Station in Jharsuguda district, where a younger brother allegedly killed his elder brother following a family dispute late on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Viveknath Nag, while the accused is his 24-year-old brother, Khirodnath Nag. Both brothers were residing with their father, Premanath Nag.

According to preliminary reports, a heated argument broke out between the two siblings over an unspecified issue at their residence. The altercation reportedly escalated, during which Khirodnath allegedly became enraged and attacked Viveknath with stones.

Viveknath sustained severe injuries in the assault and died on the spot, sources said. Following the incident, the accused fled the scene.

On being informed, Jharsuguda police reached the spot, initiated an investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding accused.
