Teacher Found Dead Near Railway Station in Rayagada; Probe Underway

Rayagada: The mutilated body of a school teacher was discovered near Jemadeipentha railway station in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Monday morning, triggering shock in the local community.
The deceased has been identified as Panchanan Chaudhury, a Sanskrit teacher at Jemadeipentha Kalinga High School. According to preliminary reports, the body bore severe injuries. A letter was also found beside him, though its contents have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Personnel from the Rayagada Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot, recovered the body and initiated an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police sources said Chaudhury had reportedly been under mental stress for some time, leading investigators to suspect the possibility of suicide. However, officials have stated that all angles are being examined and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident will be established after a thorough investigation.
