Elderly Man Dies, Five Injured in Bee Attack in Kendrapara

Bhubaneswar: A 76-year-old man lost his life and five others sustained injuries following a sudden bee attack at Jagulaipada village under Rajkanika police limits in Kendrapara district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Bailochan Biswal.

According to reports, the incident took place on Friday afternoon when several villagers were standing near a tree close to the Jagulaipada village school. A swarm of bees reportedly attacked them without warning, leaving six people injured.
The victims were immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Rajkanika for treatment. As Bailochan’s condition turned critical, he was shifted to the Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital and later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced care. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening.
The other five injured persons suffered minor to moderate injuries and are currently stable, informed Jyoti Prakash Dash, Medical Officer at Rajkanika CHC.
Police have taken note of the incident, while local residents expressed concern over safety near the area where the attack occurred.
