CBG Tanker Overturns Near Petrol Pump in Angul, Triggers Explosion Scare

Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped residents near Jarapada Square in Odisha’s Angul district late at night after a compressed bio-gas (CBG) tanker overturned close to a petrol pump, raising fears of a possible explosion.

According to reports, the tanker, which was transporting highly flammable gas, reportedly lost balance and tipped over near the fuel station. The incident prompted an immediate response from the Jarapada police, who rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area to prevent any untoward incident.

Considering the hazardous nature of the gas, two fire tenders were deployed to the site to monitor the situation and remain on standby. As a precautionary measure, electricity supply in the surrounding area was temporarily cut off to reduce the risk of ignition.

A technical team has also been engaged to assess the condition of the tanker and determine whether there is any leakage or threat of an explosion. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure public safety.

The incident has sparked concern among local residents, many of whom have kept a safe distance from the area as emergency teams continue their operations. Further details are awaited.
