6 Held, Cash & Mobiles Seized as Banjara Gang Busted at Khandagiri Mela

Bhubaneswar: The infamous Banjara gang is creating chaos at Khandagiri Mela in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, by swiftly snatching mobiles, purses, and gold ornaments from unsuspecting visitors.

The gang’s brazen activities have left many victims in distress, prompting the Commissionerate Police to launch a special drive to apprehend the culprits.

In a significant breakthrough, Khandagiri police have arrested six individuals suspected to be part of the notorious gang. The arrested individuals are believed to be hailing from the Banjara community, known for their involvement in such crimes.

The police have seized cash and multiple mobile phones from the accused, which are being examined for further evidence.

The gang allegedly targeted the crowd, exploiting the chaos and commotion to snatch valuables without being noticed.

They would keep a close eye on people’s movements, striking at the right moment to loot and escape.
