Bhubaneswar Gears Up for Grand 77th Republic Day Parade

The state capital is fully prepared to host Odisha’s state-level celebrations of the 77th Republic Day, as final arrangements gain momentum ahead of the national event. Authorities on Friday conducted a full-dress rehearsal at Lower PMG Square, ensuring seamless coordination and a dignified observance of the occasion.
The rehearsal marked a key milestone in the preparations, with officials closely monitoring timing, formations, and ceremonial protocols. The main parade, scheduled for January 26, will feature 54 contingents drawn from various uniformed services, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), Home Guards, and Civil Defence units.
Students from multiple government and private schools and colleges will also participate, adding youthful energy and inclusivity to the celebrations. Their involvement reflects the spirit of national unity and civic participation.
Enhancing the visual and cultural appeal of the parade, 12 departmental tableaux will be showcased. These displays will highlight significant government initiatives, welfare programmes, and developmental achievements across Odisha. In addition, five folk dance and folk art troupes from different districts will perform, offering a vibrant glimpse into the state’s rich cultural heritage.
The programme will further include skill demonstrations by daredevil teams and skating groups, promising an engaging and dynamic experience for attendees. Officials have confirmed that robust security, traffic management, and logistical arrangements are in place to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and safely.
With preparations nearing completion, Bhubaneswar is set to witness a grand Republic Day celebration that embodies patriotism, unity, and the cultural pride of Odisha.
