Thousands of dead fish found floating in Chandrabhaga

Konark: Thousands of dead fish were found floating on Friday in the Chandrabhaga pond ahead of the Magha buda on Sunday. The devotees will take a holy dip in the Chandrabhaga pond on the occasion of ‘Magha Buda’ after two days on Sunday.

According to sources, the reason behind the death of the fish was said to be the bleaching powder, which was used to clean the pond water instead of Lime.

Due to the use of the bleaching powder, thousands of fish have died. Unbearable stench is spreading the area due to the dead fish.

The locals have appealed to the district administration to solve the issue as it has become unbearable to walk in the area due to the stench.
