Sarawati puja celebrations across Odisha with devotion and festive fervour

Bhubaneswar: Saraswati Puja, dedicated to Goddess Saraswati was celebrated with deep devotion and festive enthusiasm across Odisha.

The day is celebrated as Vasant Panchami, the day marks the beginning of spring and end of winter season. This day is considered as sacred as devotees pray to Maa Saraswati, the goddess of arts, wisdom and knowledge. She is depicted as seated on a white lotus flower or swan, who holds a veena, sacred scriptures and rose in hands.

Prayers are being organised across the state, especially in schools, colleges, where students actively participate in the celebrations.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Saraswati Puja.

Taking to the social media platform X, Chief Minister Majhi said, “On this sacred day of Vasant Panchami, I offer my humble prayers to Goddess Saraswati, the giver of knowledge. Maa Saraswati, please bless everyone with the right intellect and prosperity. May the darkness of ignorance be dispelled by the light of knowledge. Heartfelt greetings to all on the occasion of Saraswati Puja.”
