Operation Jeevan Rakshya: ₹6.80 Lakh Fine Collected in Central Range Drive

Bhubaneswar: As part of Operation Jeevan Rakshya, Central Range Police conducted an intensive road safety enforcement drive across seven districts, checking 1,501 vehicles and collecting fines amounting to ₹6.80 lakh on January 20, 2026.

According to official data, the drive was carried out across Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha and Nayagarh districts to ensure compliance with traffic rules and enhance road safety. During the single-day operation, enforcement teams checked a large number of vehicles, including transport and commercial vehicles, and took action against traffic violations.

Police officials further stated that during the cumulative drive conducted from January 7 to January 20, 2026, a total of 18,580 vehicles were checked across the Central Range. Fines totalling ₹80.83 lakh were imposed for various traffic violations during this period.

The Central Range Police reiterated that Operation Jeevan Rakshya aims to reduce road accidents, promote disciplined driving behaviour and ensure safer roads for all. Citizens have been urged to strictly follow traffic rules and cooperate with enforcement agencies to help prevent accidents and save lives.
