Boudh Police Arrest One, Rescue Two Girls in Human Trafficking Case

Boudh: In a significant breakthrough, Boudh police on Wednesday arrested a man and rescued two girls in connection with a human trafficking case under the jurisdiction of Manamunda Police Station in Boudh district.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sambaru Jagadala, a resident of Talapada village under Harabhanga tehsil. Four other accused involved in the trafficking racket managed to flee and are currently absconding.
According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Laren Routray, Manamunda Police Station received a complaint on January 14 stating that a college-going girl had been kidnapped by miscreants while returning home and was allegedly being trafficked. Acting promptly on the complaint, a police team led by the Manamunda Police Inspector-in-Charge launched an operation, arrested Jagadala, and rescued the kidnapped girl.
During interrogation, Jagadala confessed to his involvement in previous trafficking activities and revealed that another girl had earlier been sent to Rajasthan. Following the directions of Boudh Superintendent of Police Rahul Goel, a special police team was dispatched to Rajasthan, where the second girl was successfully rescued and brought back safely.
“The remaining four accused are still on the run, but they will be apprehended soon as they are all residents of the Manamunda police limits. The investigation is continuing to completely dismantle the trafficking network,” SDPO Routray said.
Police have intensified efforts to trace the absconding accused and are probing the case to identify any wider links to the trafficking syndicate.
