Massive fire breaks out at straw heap in Nimapada

Nimapada (Puri): A massive fire broke out at straw heap in Garapada village under Nimapada block in Puri on Friday, spreading over nearly seven acres of land turning into ashes.

As per reports, an 11 kv electricity line snapped in the farmland of one Akrur Jena, and gutted the straw heap.

On being informed, Pipli fire personnel rushed to the spot and along with the villagers doused the blaze. However, by the time the fire services arrived, most of the straw had already been gutted.

No casualties were reported in the incident. The authorities investigate the cause of the fire.
