Dense Fog Drops Bhubaneswar Temperature, Flights Disrupted

Bhubaneswar: Dense fog enveloped Bhubaneswar on Thursday, bringing down the city’s temperature to 20°C and disrupting normal life, including air travel. By 11:30 am, the temperature had marginally risen to 22°C, still significantly lower than in previous days.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar has been witnessing a steady decline in daytime temperatures over the past few days. The city recorded 24.4°C on December 28, followed by 23.3°C on December 29, 21.4°C on December 30, and 21.6°C on December 31, indicating a clear downward trend.

The dense fog also impacted flight operations at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, where five flights were diverted due to poor visibility. Several passengers were left stranded, facing delays and inconvenience.
IMD officials said such weather conditions are typical during this period and advised residents to remain cautious, especially during early morning and late-night hours, when visibility is most affected.
