Labourer killed after a Hyva truck hits a tractor on Puri-Bhubaneswar NH

Bhubaneswar: A labourer was killed after a Hyva truck hit a tractor on Puri-Bhubaneswar National high way on early Friday morning. 

According to sources, the deceased labourer Kanhucharan Jena of Dhaudia village was travelling in a tractor carrying cement blocks. The tractor was heading towards Puri when the speeding Hyva truck hit the vehicle from behind. The tractor was completely crushed in the collision and the labourer died.

The locals near the area protested and blocked the National high way demanding compensation for a long time. Due to which, the traffic movements in the area was affected.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and seized the body. The police intervened and tried to bring the situation under control.

The issue was resolved and the locals stopped protesting after the police meditated and both the vehicle owners gave Rs 20,000 compensation for the labourer’s family.
