Tiger terror in Boudh

Kantamal: A tiger is suspected to be roaming in the forest of  Kantamal-Samakupa area in Boudh district of Odisha, sparking fear among locals.

As per information, it has been believed that the animal has killed a cow, and residents have found its footprints and feces in the forest. Villagers of Samakupa, under the Naranprasad section of the Kantamal forest range, are living in fear.

It has been learnt that the villagers use to venture to the forest every day to graze cows and goats. Yesterday when they had gone to the forest for grazing the domestic animals, after some time they observed that some of their animals went missing.

Accordingly, they along with the locals searched the forest and found the remains of a dead cow, along with tiger footprints and feces. Accordingly, it was believed that a tiger is present in the forest that so far has haunted the cow.

The forest department has launched an investigation into the incident.

The tiger’s identity is still unknown, with speculation that it may not be a leopard or a Bengal Tiger. Authorities are taking the situation seriously, and the area is under surveillance.
