Man Arrested for Killing Friend Over Financial Dispute in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly murdering his friend following a quarrel over money in Bhurudukala village under Khunta police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused, identified as Mangal Murmu, reportedly had a dispute with his friend Ganesh Murmu over earnings from selling chickens at the Badakhunta market. After the sale, Mangal allegedly kept the money, which led to an argument when Ganesh demanded his share.

The altercation escalated on their way back to Bhurudukala village, during which Mangal allegedly attacked Ganesh with bricks, resulting in his death. Ganesh’s body was later found lying along the roadside in Badakhunta, prompting villagers to alert the police.
Khunta police reached the spot and launched an investigation. A key belonging to the accused’s motorcycle, recovered from the scene, helped officers trace and arrest Mangal shortly thereafter.
The accused is now in custody, and further investigation is in progress.
