Ornaments Worth Over ₹5 Lakh Looted From Maa Charchika Temple

Jagatsinghpur: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants allegedly stole gold ornaments valued at over ₹5 lakh from the revered Maa Charchika Temple in Jagatsinghpur town late on Thursday night. The stolen items include the gold eyes, necklace, and several other precious ornaments adorning the presiding deity at the temple located in Charchika Bazaar.
According to sources, the temple priest had closed the shrine after completing the daily rituals on Thursday night. However, when he reopened the temple on Friday morning, he was stunned to discover that the ornaments had been stolen. The incident has left devotees and locals deeply disturbed.

A door on the left side of the temple was found broken, leading to the suspicion that the miscreants gained entry by forcefully breaking it open. The damaged door indicates that the theft was planned and executed during the late hours when the temple remained locked.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the spot and launched an investigation. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits. Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations and questioning locals in an attempt to gather crucial clues related to the theft.
