Veteran Actor Dharmendra Passes Away at 89 in Mumbai

Mumbai: Bollywood legend Dharmendra died on Monday morning at his residence in Mumbai following a brief illness. He was 89 years old, just days away from his 90th birthday on December 8, 2025.
The actor had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on October 31 after experiencing breathlessness. His health declined rapidly, and he passed away at home.

Dharmendra’s funeral was held at the Pawan Hans crematorium, where many from the film fraternity paid their final respects. His second wife, Hema Malini, along with co-stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, and others, attended amid tight security.
Condolences poured in from across the political spectrum. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, among others, expressed their grief on social media.
The late actor’s final film appearance will be in Sriram Raghavan’s war drama Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda (Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson). The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, 2025.
