Cuttack: Three Feared Drowned in Devi River, Search Operation Underway
Cuttack: A joint search operation by the fire brigade and local police is underway at the Devi river ghat near Similda under Govindpur police station limits in Cuttack district after three persons went missing and are feared to have drowned.
The missing individuals have been identified as Shashi Bhoi of Paika Pada, Ratnakar Bhoi of Bishipada, and Bharat Pradhan of Nahalpur—all residents under the same police jurisdiction.

According to reports, the trio had gone to the river earlier in the day but failed to return home for several hours. Worried family members began searching for them and later discovered their clothes on the riverbank, raising fears of drowning.
Following the alert, a fire brigade team and police personnel reached the spot and launched a massive search operation in the river. However, no trace of the three men had been found until late Thursday evening.
Rescue efforts are continuing, and local sources said the operation will resume at daybreak on Friday if required.
