Odisha Shivers as Mercury Dips; Daringbadi Records Season’s Lowest at 9.5°C

Bhubaneswar: Winter has officially set in across Odisha, with night temperatures plummeting in several parts of the state. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Daringbadi in Kandhamal district recorded the season’s lowest temperature of 9.5°C on Tuesday.

Phulbani followed closely with 11°C, while several other places also experienced a sharp fall in temperature. G. Udayagiri recorded 10.5°C, Jharsuguda 11.1°C, Chiplima 12°C, Kirei 12.2°C, Rourkela 12.9°C, Sundargarh 13.2°C, Angul 13.6°C, and Keonjhar 13.4°C.

Dense fog enveloped parts of Koraput and Bhawanipatna, disrupting visibility and normal morning activities. Meanwhile, Paralakhemundi registered the highest temperature in the state at 33.4°C, reflecting the contrast in weather conditions across Odisha.

IMD officials have urged residents, especially in the hilly and interior districts of Kandhamal and Phulbani, to take necessary precautions against the cold as the chill is expected to intensify in the coming days.
