Dead fishes found floating in Hirakud waters

Dead fishes were found floating in Hirakud reservoir, This has caused  panic among  local populace.

While locals blamed industrial pollution as the reason behind fish deaths, scientists attributed  dip in mercury as the cause.

“We have been testing the water of Hirakud reservoir every month and found pollution levels under control,” said Mr Nanda, project scientist of Pollution Control Board.
