Night Temperatures to Drop by 3–4°C Across Odisha, Says IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted a dip of 3–4°C in minimum (night) temperatures across Odisha over the next three to four days. However, dry weather conditions are expected to prevail throughout the state for the next week, with no weather warnings issued.

According to the IMD’s midday bulletin, northwesterly to northerly winds are currently dominating the state’s weather pattern. Moderate fog was reported at isolated places in Sundergarh, while shallow fog occurred in parts of Kalahandi. No rainfall was recorded anywhere in Odisha.

Minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal by 3–4°C at a few places in interior Odisha and normal elsewhere. The day’s highest maximum temperature of 34.0°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi, while Phulbani remained the coldest at 14.0°C.

The IMD’s seven-day outlook indicates continued dry weather through November 14, with stable conditions expected during the following three days from November 14 to 17.

For Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas, the forecast suggests morning fog or mist followed by mainly clear skies. Daytime temperatures are likely to hover around 32°C, while nighttime lows may settle near 19°C. Observations at 8:30 a.m. recorded a maximum of 32.5°C and minimum of 19.8°C, with no rainfall.

The IMD also mentioned that farmers can expect favourable dry conditions in the next 24 hours with no specific advisories, while fishermen along the Odisha coast have no warnings for the next five days.
