12-Foot King Cobra Rescued From Residential Area in Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped residents of Baunsapala village under Soro police limits in Balasore district after a massive 12-foot-long King Cobra was found trapped in a net outside a house on Tuesday.
According to reports, the snake had become entangled in a net placed outside the residence of Surendra Samal, a local villager. On spotting the trapped reptile, locals immediately alerted the Forest Department.

Acting on the instructions of Ranger Harihar Majhi, forest guards Phulmani Murmu, snake rescuer Debendra Rout, and Trilochan Mahalik rushed to the spot and successfully rescued the giant cobra after a careful operation.
The rescued snake was later released safely into the Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary, ensuring it returned to its natural habitat without harm.
Forest officials praised the prompt action of locals and urged the public to inform authorities immediately if such incidents occur, instead of attempting to handle snakes on their own.
