Betel Shop Owner Found Murdered Near Jagatsinghpur Bus Stand

Bhubaneswar: Tension gripped Jogadhari Square near the Jagatsinghpur bus stand after a betel shop owner was found brutally murdered late on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Gyanranjan Pothal, a resident of Pokpur in Jagatsinghpur district. Police recovered a chopper from the spot, suspected to be the weapon used in the crime.

According to sources, Gyanranjan, who usually returned home after closing his shop, did not arrive on time last night. Worried, his wife went to look for him with a neighbour and found him lying in a pool of blood in front of his shop.

Upon being informed, police reached the spot and launched a manhunt to trace the accused, who is still absconding. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, and an investigation is underway.
