Angul police seizes illegal fire crackers worth Rs 1.5 crore

Angul: In a major crackdown against illegal fire crackers ahead of Diwali, Police have raided and seized crackers worth Rs 1.5 crore. The Police raided and arrested 13 people in Angul district ahead of Diwali.

According to information, Police have arrested 13 people involved in illegal fire crackers trading in various parts of the district.

On receiving information from reliable sources, Angul police raided several warehouses in various places. In this regard, six cases have been registered in Talcher police station, three cases in Angul police station, two in Chendipada police station, two in Sadar police station, and one case each in Bagadia and NTPC police stations.

A total of 5710 kg of crackers have been seized from these places. Angul SP Rahul Jain said that all the illegal warehouses have been sealed and letters have been written to cancel their licenses. Illegal and unlicensed fire crackers can result in explosions and heavy damage.
