Odisha Assembly Disrupted for 6th Consecutive Day

The Odisha Legislative Assembly witnessed chaos for the sixth consecutive day as Congress legislators created a ruckus during the Question Hour, forcing Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn proceedings until 11:30 AM.
The uproar began moments after the session commenced, with Congress members storming the well of the House, shouting slogans over the alleged rise in crimes against women in the state. Despite repeated appeals from the Speaker to maintain decorum and allow the Question Hour to proceed, the disruptions continued.
Only 30 minutes of Question Hour could be conducted before the adjournment. Speaker Padhy personally requested Congress Legislature Party leader Rama Chandra Kadam to cooperate and return to his seat, but the protests intensified near the Speaker’s podium.
The incident marks the sixth day of consecutive disruptions during the monsoon session, with Congress MLAs demanding accountability from the government, particularly the Agriculture Department, which was scheduled for questioning today.
Despite the chaos, the House resumed briefly later, with limited legislative business conducted amid continued sloganeering.
