Puri Jagannath Temple Security Gets Body Cameras

Puri: In a major step towards strengthening security at the Shree Jagannath Temple, police personnel stationed at the temple’s four gates have been equipped with body cameras.
The devices, fitted with audio recording and ample storage capacity, are expected to play a vital role in monitoring suspicious movements and preventing the entry of prohibited items into the shrine. They will also help in identifying non-sevaks and ensuring better cleanliness and discipline on the premises.
According to officials, the recorded footage will serve as crucial evidence for maintaining law and order, thereby enhancing the safety, confidence, and convenience of devotees. The initiative is also aimed at preserving the dignity and sanctity of the centuries-old shrine, which attracts lakhs of pilgrims and tourists every year.
Authorities believe that the introduction of body cameras will enable police personnel to perform their duties more efficiently and provide improved services to devotees, ensuring a secure and seamless experience for visitors.
