Snake bite death of class 3 student in Ganjam

Sorda: In a tragic incident, a class three student died due to a snake bite. The incident took place in Raibandh village of Badagada police station in Ganjam district, said reports.

According to reports, a snake bit him inside the house at night while everyone was sleeping. In the morning when he was unresponsive, he was taken to the hospital. The doctors there examined him and declared him brought dead.

A pall of gloom has descended on the family following this tragic incident.

Recently on July 18, a woman died of snakebite in Bhadrak district of Odisha. The incident took place in the Badamachhuaghai village in Rajaghara Pokhari panchayat under Basudepur block of the district.

The deceased woman has been identified as Pushpa Parida, aged 42.

According to information, Pushpa Parida was bringing water to her house in a bucket for worship when a snake hiding under the stairs bit her leg.

After the snakebite, her family members immediately took her to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon examination.

Upon receiving the news, Pushpa’s brothers and family members rushed to the hospital, and a mournful atmosphere prevailed in the hospital premises for some time following her death.

It is common to spot snakes during the rainy season as their holes get filed with water and the snakes are forced to get out and roam around in drier areas. Hence can be spotted easily by humans.
