Man killed, 10 injured in group clash during Ganesh idol immersion

Nayagarh: In a shocking incident, a man was killed while 10 others sustained injury following a group clash in Nayagarh district of Odisha yesterday night. The incident took place in the Karadapalli village in Bhapur area of ​​the district.

The deceased youth has been identified as Harihar Swain of Karadapalli.

As per reports, a verbal spat erupted between two persons over playing of music on DJ set during Lord Ganesh idol immersion procession yesterday. Soon, others from both sides joined the argument. Soon, the verbal spat took an ugly turn and members of both the groups got engaged in a scuffles.

Accordingly, about 11 people from both the groups sustained injury while a few of them sustained critical injury. One of them succumbed to the injury.

After the murder, tension prevailed in Karadapalli.

On receiving the information, the Fetegarh police reached the spot and initiated investigation. Further probe of the case is underway.
