Popular Punjabi actor Jaswinder Bhalla passes away at 65

Popular Punjabi comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla passed away at the age of 65. He took his last breath on Friday, August 22, at Fortis Hospital in Mohali due to a brain stroke. Bhalla was brought to the hospital and unfortunately passed away at 4 am.

The death news has shocked the Punjabi entertainment world. Fans, friends, and colleagues are mourning his passing. Many are likely to throng his house to pay homage. Reportedly, Bhalla will be cremated on August 23 at 12 pm at Balongi cremation ground in Mohali.

He was famous for his comic performances and sharp one liners. He became popular with his stage comedy shows in the late 1980s and 1990s before coming on to the cinema. His role as Advocate Dhillon became iconic, and he appeared in some of the blockbuster movies, including the “Carry On Jatta” series and “Jatt & Juliet” franchise.

Praises are raining in for the popular actor. Former cricketer Pargat Singh was sad to hear the news and posted, “Deeply saddened by the loss of great Punjabi comedian Jaswinder Bhalla ji. His sharp humor, ageless characters & contribution to Punjabi cinema brought joy to millions. A massive loss to our culture & entertainment community.” Bhalla will live on in memory for his iconic performances, and fan and family will greatly miss him.
