Cuttack: Two killed in road accident

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, a man and his wife have been killed in a road accident in Cuttack of Odisha on Friday morning. The accident took place near the Kathajodi bridge on the National Highway in Cuttack. While the identity of the deceased couple is yet to be ascertained, they hail from Uttara area of Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the couple was traveling on a scooter when an Andhra Pradesh registered truck ran over them near the Kathajodi Bridge.

Following the accident, the locals blocked the national highway. The Commissionerate Police are attempting to lift the blockade. Efforts are also underway to remove the accident involved truck from the scene. The bodies of the man and his wife have been recovered and sent to SCB Medical for autopsy.

In a separate incident, two people were killed as two bikes rammed into each other while trying to overtake a trailer truck. The incident took place near the Solamaili square under Buguda police station in Ganjam district in 7th of August 2025.  They were going in their bike when the accident occurred.
