ECoR Cancels Trains for Safety Works

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) will carry out Pre-Non Interlocking (Pre-NI) and Non Interlocking (NI) works at Rahama, Badabandha, and Paradeep stations under the Khurda Road Division. The move is aimed at enhancing safety, improving operational efficiency, and increasing train handling capacity.

The works are part of the commissioning of an Auto-Signalling system between the Rahama–Paradeep section in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, along with the provision of an additional loop line at Badabandha station.

For smooth execution of these crucial safety-related projects, ECoR has announced the cancellation of two pairs of passenger trains from August 16 to August 20.

The trains affected are Train No. 68435/68436 Cuttack–Paradeep–Cuttack MEMU passenger and Train No. 58405/58406 Cuttack–Paradeep–Cuttack passenger. Both services will remain suspended in both directions during this period.

According to the railway authorities, these works are necessary to strengthen the safety framework and streamline operations in the busy Paradeep route.
