9 Bonded Labourers Including 3 Children Rescued in Nuapada

Sinapali Police rescued six bonded labourers, including three children, during a late-night operation on January 15. The rescue took place near the Odisha–Chhattisgarh border, where illegal trafficking of labourers was underway.
Acting on a tip-off, Sinapali Police laid a trap and intercepted a Bolero vehicle transporting workers to another state. Officers rescued two men, four women, and three children from the vehicle.
The operation was led by Sinapali Police Station Officer Durga Madhab Bag. Police seized the Bolero vehicle at the spot. However, the middleman, identified as Dinabandhu Sunani, managed to escape.
Authorities confirmed that a case will be registered against the broker under relevant legal provisions. Police teams are searching for him to ensure accountability.
The rescue highlights the ongoing challenges of illegal labour trafficking in border districts. Sinapali Police emphasised their commitment to protecting vulnerable workers and children from exploitation.
