86-Year-Old Woman Revives Moments Before Cremation at Puri Swargadwar

Puri: In a startling turn of events, an 86-year-old woman, identified as P. Lakshmi from Polasara in Ganjam district, came back to life just moments before her funeral pyre was to be lit at Puri’s Swargadwar cremation ground on Monday.

According to reports, Lakshmi’s family presumed she had passed away after noticing she was not breathing. Believing her to be dead, they arranged an ambulance and transported her body to Swargadwar for the last rites.

Upon arrival, Swargadwar authorities asked the family to produce a death certificate. While her son-in-law left to arrange the document, other family members noticed faint signs of breathing.

Lakshmi was immediately rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where doctors confirmed she was alive and initiated emergency treatment. Her condition is reported to be stable and under close medical supervision.

The extraordinary incident has left locals stunned, sparking both shock and amazement across the town.
