577 New COVID-19 Cases Detected in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Odisha’s Coronavirus tally crossed 11,000 mark with 577 new positives, highest single-day spike so far, were reported in the last 24 hours.

Of the total fresh cases, 416 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres while 161 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said Health and Family Welfare department.

The cases have been reported from 22 districts:  Angul (7), Balasore (30), Bhadrak (2),  Boudh(5), Cuttack (14), Dhenkanal (4),  Gajapati (17), Ganjam (260), Jagatsinghpur ( 7), Jajpur (9),  Jharsuguda(1), Kandhamal (1), Kendrapada (3), Keonjhar (48), Khordha (56), Koraput (6), Malkangiri (1), Mayurbhanj (14), Nayagarh (1), Puri (5),  Sambalpur (3) and Sundargarh (83),

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 4128. While 7006 patients have recovered in the state so far, 48 succumbed to the virus.
