54th State Police Rifle Shooting Competition Inaugurated at PTI Bairi

Bhubaneswar: The 54th State Police Rifle Shooting Competition of Odisha Police was formally inaugurated on Thursday at the Police Training Institute (PTI), Bairi, in Jajpur district.

Director (Intelligence) R. P. Koche attended the event as the Chief Guest and inspected the guard of honour during the inaugural ceremony. Addressing the participants, he stated that the primary objective of the competition is to enhance rifle shooting skills among police officers and personnel across the state.

He expressed confidence that all competitors would give their best performance and urged the Odisha Police to uphold its unique reputation and identity at the national level. Koche also encouraged participants to ensure the success of the championship through sportsmanship and strong self-confidence.

A total of 16 police teams from different ranges and battalions across the state are participating in the competition. Altogether, 269 players — including 265 men and four women — are competing in the championship, which will continue until March 1.

Among those present at the inauguration were IG Satish Kumar Gajbhiye, Commandant of PTI Bairi Ashok Kumar Dehuri, Commandant of 6th OSAP Cuttack Surya Narayan Mallick, State Police Headquarters Sports Officer Neela Madhav Swain, and several senior police officials.
