500-Bed Trauma Centre at SCB Medical
Cuttack: A 500-bed trauma centre will soon be established at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack to provide immediate and advanced treatment to accident victims. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the proposal for the project.
The trauma centre will be implemented under the Central Government’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana’ (PMSSY), with 60% funding from the Centre and the remaining 40% from the State Government.
To facilitate the project, CM Majhi had earlier written to Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, seeking approval for the trauma centre. Following an in-principle approval from the Central Government, the Odisha government has now given its consent for the establishment of the facility.
With approval secured, the next step involves preparing a detailed project report, after which further implementation processes will begin.
