5-year-old sexually assaulted in Baripada, accused arrested

Baripada: In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her grandfather in Baripada in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The incident took place in Baripada Sadar police station area on Monday.

As per reports, the accused relative, Dilip Hembram, a resident of Dhenkinenjia in Baripada Sadar lured the child with biscuits, who was playing outside and took her to a secluded spot behind her house and committed the heinous crime.

The victim, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to a hospital in Baripada.

The victim’s mother then immediately reported the matter and filed a complaint at the police station. On basis of complaint, the Baripada Sadar Police arrested the accused and launched an investigation into the matter.
