30+ Police Platoons Deployed for Kendrapara Lakshmi Puja Immersion

Kendrapara Police has put in place extensive security arrangements for the immersion processions and M elan marking the centenary celebrations of the district’s historic Lakshmi Puja. More than 30 platoons of police personnel have been deployed across the town and other key locations to ensure the festivities pass off peacefully.

Dr Satyajit Nayak, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Central Range, Cuttack, and Kendrapara SP Siddharth Kataria, IPS, are personally supervising the arrangements on the ground. They are visiting sensitive and crowded areas, reviewing force deployment and crowd-management measures, and issuing necessary instructions to officers and personnel on duty.
Special police teams have been positioned at vulnerable locations, while mobile patrol units, striking forces and plainclothes personnel are maintaining constant vigilance. Traffic management measures, designated parking areas and arrangements for the smooth movement of devotees and visitors have also been put in place.
CCTV cameras and other technological resources are being used to strengthen surveillance. Police personnel have been directed to remain alert and coordinate closely with Puja committees, volunteers and other departments to respond promptly to any emergency.
The district police have appealed to devotees, organisers and the public to maintain peace, follow traffic and parking regulations, and cooperate with security personnel. People have also been urged not to believe rumours and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police officer.
Kendrapara Police said that comprehensive security measures, active patrolling and direct supervision by senior officers would continue to ensure the safe and orderly completion of the centenary Lakshmi Puja immersion processions and M elan.
