25 Platoons, PBG Commandos Guard President Murmu’s Odisha Visit on Nov 27

The Commissionerate Police finalised elaborate security arrangements for President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit to Odisha on November 27.
Authorities confirmed a four-tier security cover to safeguard the President during her engagements in Bhubaneswar.
President Murmu will address the inaugural winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, marking the first-ever address by a President to any state Assembly. To secure the event, police deployed 25 platoons across key locations. The Commissionerate Police arranged three-tier security, while the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) commandos and additional personnel will provide the fourth layer.
Officials placed Biju Patnaik Airport, Raj Bhavan, and the Legislative Assembly on high alert for November 27–28. Five Deputy Commissioners of Police will oversee operations, supported by five Assistant Commissioners, 20 Inspectors, and 30 other officers.
Traffic police received instructions to regulate vehicular movement, with five platoons assigned for route lining. A full rehearsal of the President’s cavalcade will take place on November 26. The Bomb Squad and sniffer dogs will conduct checks to eliminate potential threats.
Moreover, police prepared crowd control measures and intelligence monitoring to ensure smooth proceedings. Senior officers emphasised that the arrangements aim to balance public convenience with stringent security.
The visit underscores Odisha’s growing prominence in national affairs and highlights the importance of maintaining robust safety protocols during high-profile events. With the President’s historic Assembly address, the Commissionerate Police reaffirmed its commitment to public security and operational excellence.
