236 CCTV cameras to be installed at Jagannath Temple, Gundicha Temple before Rath Yatra

Puri, May 13: Puri District administration has decided to install as many as 236 additional CCTV cameras at Jagannath Temple here and the Grand Road to enhance the security infrastructure.

Collector Samarth Verma today said that these cameras will be installed at vantage points in the Jagannath Temple and Gundicha Temple.

The tender process for installation of the CCTV cameras has been completed. The cameras will be set up before Rath Yatra, during which Puri will witness a sea of crowd as the grand event was held sans devotees during 2020 and 2021 due to COVID pandemic.

On May 20, the second Rath Yatra coordination meeting will be held in Puri. The meeting will be presided over by RDC Central.
