2 Cases of Omicron Confirmed in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): With surge in Omicron cases across India, two persons were found infected with the new variant of COVID-19 in Odisha.

Two cases of Omicron were confirmed in Odisha, informed Ajay Parida, Director, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, today. Both the infectees have foreign travel history to Nigeria and Qatar respectively.

Among two Omicron infected patients, one is aged about 41 years and 43 years. Both are male. While one hails from Jagatsingpur district, another is a resident of Khordha district. They have mild symptoms, stated the official giving details about Odisha’s first two Omicron cases.
