2 Anthrax Positives Identified in Koraput

Koraput: At least two cases of Anthrax persons were identified in Odisha’s Koraput district. They were promptly admitted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment, said Health Department Sources on Friday. According to the Public Health authorities two persons, identified as Adu Jani and Bhagwan Kirisani of Devighat village under the Sadar Block limit were tested Anthrax positive.

A team of doctors headed by the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) visited the patients and took stock of the matter. Following this, the teams beefed up health check-up camps across the block. Meanwhile at least six blood samples were suspected to be anthrax positive of 410 blood samples.

The samples were referred for further screening to rule out Anthrax infections. people and took samples of the six sick persons for testing, said the CDMO. However, he advised the people not to panic since the district health administration is vigilantly watching the issues.
