Woman Murdered, Husband Bound in Koraput Robbery

Koraput: In a tragic incident, a woman was looted and murdered by unidentified assailants in the presence of her husband, who was tied to a tree, in Kumaragandhana Haria Munda village under Nandapur police station limits in Koraput district on Monday evening.

The victim has been identified as Sabi Khara, while her husband, Mahendra Khara, was left injured.

According to reports, the couple was returning home after visiting a nearby common services center to update their Aadhaar cards when they were attacked by the assailants wielding lathis.

After rendering Mahendra unconscious, the attackers bound him to a tree before looting Sabi’s gold jewelry and fleeing the scene after fatally assaulting her.

Locals informed the police, who arrived promptly and initiated an investigation. A scientific team from Koraput also collected samples from the scene to aid in the probe.
