Two Minor Cousins Drown in Pond in Cuttack’s Nischintakoili Block

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, two minor cousins drowned in a pond at Ramakrushnapur village under Nischintakoili block of Cuttack district on Saturday evening.

The deceased were identified as two-year-old Kameshwara Sahu and four-year-old Bhagyalaxmi Sahu. According to reports, Bhagyalaxmi, a resident of Ostapur village, was visiting her uncle’s house in Ramakrushnapur when the mishap occurred.

Sources said the children were playing near the pond when they accidentally slipped into the water. Local residents rushed to rescue them but were unable to save their lives.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village, with residents mourning the untimely loss of the two young lives.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
