Southwest Monsoon Begins Withdrawal from Odisha: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday announced that the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from Odisha has officially begun.

According to the IMD bulletin, the monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Odisha, along with most parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal, as well as entire Jharkhand, Goa, and Sikkim.

The weather agency added that favourable conditions are developing for the complete withdrawal of the monsoon from the remaining parts of Odisha and neighbouring states — Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and the northeastern region — within the next two to three days.

This marks the seasonal transition as Odisha prepares to enter the post-monsoon and winter period, with drier and cooler weather conditions expected ahead.
