Similipal Sanctuary Reopens After Rain Closure
Mayurbhanj: Similipal Sanctuary in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, reopened to tourists today after being closed for two days due to heavy rainfall.
With roads cleared and conditions improved, visitors can now embark on jungle safaris into the sanctuary’s core area aboard open Jimny vehicles.
Tourists can also book overnight stays at guest houses in Kumari, Ramtheerth, Gudugudia, and Jamuani. Nature camping is available at Gudugudia, but advance reservations are required.
Entry permits for Similipal can be obtained from Baripada Pithabata and Jashipur Kaiani booking counters between 6 AM and 9 AM.
Meanwhile, Mayurbhanj district continues to experience severe cold and dense fog. The minimum temperature dropped to 6°C today, with Barakamuda recording 6°C and Chahala at 7°C.
