Puri Police Bans Phones at Srimandir
Puri: Following the circulation of a viral video showing the interior of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, the police have intensified security measures and banned mobile phones around the temple premises.
The Puri Police have put up posters warning against the use of mobile phones in and around the temple. The posters state, “Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside Shree Jagannath Temple. Violators will be penalized and prosecuted as per law.”
A complaint has been filed against the individual who recorded and shared the video. Puri SP assured strict action against anyone attempting to capture photos or videos inside the temple, emphasizing that such violations will not be tolerated.
In a separate incident, a drone was seized, and a case was registered against its operator for flying it near the temple premises.
The viral video, shared on January 19, was reportedly filmed by an individual named Banke Bihari Ananta. The footage, depicting the temple’s interior and sanctum sanctorum, sparked widespread concern over security violations.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of adhering to temple regulations to preserve the sanctity of the shrine.
