Police SI exam scam: CB summons 3 staffs of Vanik Coaching centre

Bhubaneswar: In the Police SI recruitment scam, as many as three staff members of ‘Vanik’ Coaching Centre were issued a notice by the Odisha Crime Branch. The CB had on Thursday raided the coaching centre and issued a notice to the HR Manager, Admin Manager and Account Head.
They have been issued a summon to present themselves at the Crime Branch Cuttack Headquarters around 11.00 am as per the notice.
While speaking to the newsmen, DSP Narendra Kumar Behera said that the Crime Branch team conducted the raid based on the inputs received from some of the 114 candidates who have been arrested for their involvement in the SI recruitment scam.
During interrogation, around 12 of the 114 arrested candidates confessed their connection with Vanik.
The Crime Branch found evidence of as many as 6 students among them being a student of Vanik coaching centre during the raid. For this, the three staff members have been issued a notice for interrogation today.
It is worth mentioning here, that a ‘syndicate’ is functioning behind the Police SI recruitment scam. Deals were being conducted by original certificates with blank cheques. Tutors of several coaching centres are reportedly involved in the scam said sources.
