One Dead, Two Injured in Boudh Car Crash

Boudh: A tragic road accident on State Highway 57 at Champur Square in Boudh district late Sunday night claimed one life and left two others injured.

The deceased has been identified as Satyabhama Meher of Champapur. According to reports, a car traveling from Boudh to Phulbani first hit an elderly man before crashing into a garage, destroying four parked motorcycles. The vehicle then plunged into a 10-foot-deep ditch.

Following the accident, locals detained two occupants inside the car and informed the police. The Boudh police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. However, tensions flared as agitated residents staged a road blockade, burning tyres in protest.

Authorities are working to restore normalcy while further investigation into the incident continues.
